A 14 ounce (400 gram) package of authentic red Achiote paste.  Achiote paste is a deep red colored, marinating seasoning mix from the Yucatan Pennisula that is used in Pibil style dishes.  This authentic achiote seasoning paste, also known as Recado Rojo, contains annatto, Mexican oregano, cumin, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, allspice, garlic and salt. 

If you've enjoyed the Mayan foods of Cozumel or Cancun, Mexico, you will love having achiote paste on hand for your Mexican cooking needs. One ounce of Achiote paste diluted with one half cup of vinegar, lime or lemon juice, or brothwill marinate at least two pounds of meat.
